Getting to The Chow Kit
How do I get there?
We’re located on the corner of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, The Chow Kit is a 5 min walk from the Sultan Ismail LRT station and Medan Tuanku Monorail station. View in Google Map.
The best way to get here from our international airports (klia, klia2 or Subang Airport) is by taxi or ride-hailing services. The fare from klia is approximately RM80 – RM120 while the fare from Subang airport is approximately RM35 – 50.
We can also arrange private airport transfers for a fee – please contact us if you would like us to do so.
Is there parking on site?
The Chow Kit has a limited number of parking bays. Guests may park on site for a small fee of RM5 per hour and/or RM15 per day. Unfortunately, as we’re located in the city centre with limited spots, we cannot reserve parking spaces.
Making a Booking
What is the check-in and check-out time?
Check-in time is 2PM and check-out time is 12PM.
Can I check-in early or request for late check-out? Can you store my luggage if my room is not ready?
Early check-in and/or late check-out for The Chow Kit are subject to availability upon request. If you would like an early check-in and/or late check-out, please let us know in advance. Depending on your request, there may be a small fee. We are happy to store and hold your luggage as long as you have a confirmed booking with us.
Can I modify my booking?
Unless stated in the rate plan, all bookings can be modified.
What is the hotel’s cancellation policy?
Unless stated otherwise in the rate plan, cancellations must be made 24 hrs before arrival to avoid a cancellation fee.
What is the prepayment policy at check-in?/ When will I be charged? Is there a deposit when booking a room?
A full non-refundable deposit for the entire stay is charged at the time of booking, unless stated otherwise in the rate plan.
Rooms & Amenities
What kind of rooms do you have? And what are the rates?
We have 3 standard room types and 3 suite types. Choose from The Den, The King Den, The Twin Den, The Towkay Suite and more. Check out the rooms page for photos and more details.
What type of room amenities do you offer?
All our rooms come with Free high-speed Wi-Fi, hair dryer, mini-fridge and safe. You can find the list of amenities The Chow Kit provides here.
Are the rooms serviced everyday?
Your room will be serviced by housekeeping once a day. To minimize our environmental impact, towels will be changed every 3 days. If you would like new towels everyday, please leave them on the bathroom floor. Sheets will be changed every 3 days. If you wish for it to be changed more often, please let us know by dialling 0.
Do you have baby cots?
Yes, baby cots are available upon request, subject to availability.
Can I smoke in the rooms?
No. We are a strict non-smoking property. Please do not smoke in your room or in the public spaces within the building. A fine of RM500 will be imposed if caught smoking. There is a dedicated smoking area outside next to the parking lot.
What kind of socket does your rooms have?/ Do you provide adapters?
Our power plugs and sockets are Type G. The standard voltage is 240 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. Should you require an adapter, please call our hosts.
Hotel Facilities
Do you have a gym and spa?
No we don’t have a gym and spa on the property, but our hosts will be happy to recommend gyms and fitness classes nearby. Please check out your perks here.
Do you provide bottled water?
You will be provided with 2 bottles of filtered water during your stay, which can be refilled at the water fountain located on guest floor lift lobbies. You can also find extra towels and other essential amenities in the Essentials Closet.
Is The Chow Kit pet-friendly?
We do not allow pets.
Do you provide laundry services?
Laundry and dry cleaning is available for a fee. Please call our hosts if you wish to do so.
Do you have luggage racks?
Luggage racks are available upon request.
Eat & Drink
What time is breakfast?
Breakfast is from 7:00 am – 10:30 am on weekdays and 7 am – 11:30 am on weekends.
What time does the restaurant open and close?
The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar opens at 7 am and closes at midnight daily.
When is the last order?
Last orders are at 10:30 pm
Do I need to book a table at the restaurant and how?
When we open, reservations for dinner are highly recommended. Please book online or call our kitchen to book a table.
Do you have room service?
The menu is available on the in-room TV. Dial 1 to order from The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar. Once ready, your food will be personally sent to your room.
Neighbourhood Experiences
How much do we have to pay for the walking tours?
The walking tours are priced from RM129 per head for guests of The Chow Kit and RM 139 for non-guests. Reservations are mandatory. Please book your tours via the link here.
How do I sign up for the events? Are the events free?
